Usage Instructions for Vet Expert Rapid CPV/CCV/Giardia Ag Test Kit
Basic Principles
The Vet Expert CPV/CCV/Giardia Ag test is a chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antigens of Canine Parvovirus (CPV), Canine Coronavirus (CCV), and Giardia duodenalis in dog feces. The letters T and C on the test plate indicate the test line (T) and the control line (C). The control line (C) serves as a procedural control and should always appear if the test process is performed correctly and the reagents are functioning properly. A colored test line (T) will appear in the results window if antigens are present in the sample.

Precautions
- Diagnostic test for veterinary use only.
- Strict adherence to instructions is necessary for accurate results.
- The test plate is sensitive to moisture and heat; perform the test immediately after opening the pouch.
- All test materials are single-use only.
- Avoid touching the membrane in the results window.
- Do not use the test beyond the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
- Do not use the test if the pouch is damaged.
- Do not mix test materials from different Lot numbers.
- Treat the sample as potentially infectious.
- Disinfect and dispose of all samples and materials in accordance with local regulations.
- Consider test results invalid after the designated reading time.
Test Kit Storage
Store the test kit at a temperature of 2 ~ 30 °C. DO NOT FREEZE. Avoid exposing the test to direct sunlight.
Sample Collection and Preparation
The test should be conducted using dog feces. Samples should be tested immediately after collection. If not tested immediately, samples should be stored at 2~8°C for up to 24 hours. For longer storage, freeze samples at -20°C or lower. The proper amount of feces to collect is shown in the image above.
Test Procedure
- Bring all reagents to room temperature (15~30°C) before use.
- Using 2 swabs, collect the sample from dog feces or directly from the rectum.
- Insert one swab into the tube containing 1 ml of CPV/CCV diluent (P) and the other swab into the tube containing 1 ml of Giardia diluent (G). Mix with the swab for at least 10 seconds to ensure thorough mixing of the sample and diluent. Remove the swab while pressing it against the side of the tube.
- Remove the test from its foil pouch and place it on a flat, dry surface.
- Using the provided disposable pipettes, collect the supernatant from the sample tube. Use separate pipettes for diluent (P) and diluent (G). If fecal particles are too large, wait 1 minute for them to settle, then collect the supernatant.
- Add 4 drops to each sample well.
- Read the result after 10 minutes. Do not read after 20 minutes.
Test Interpretation
- Negative Result: Only the control line (C) appears in the results window.
- Positive Result: Both the test line (T) and control line (C) appear, indicating the presence of the antigen. Even a faint line indicates a positive result.
- Invalid Result: If the control line (C) does not appear, the result is invalid, and the sample should be retested.
Test Limitations
While the Vet Expert CPV/CCV/Giardia Ag test is highly accurate, a small percentage of false results may occur. Additional clinical testing is recommended if results are inconclusive. As with all diagnostic tests, a definitive clinical diagnosis should not be based solely on a single test result but should consider all clinical and laboratory findings comprehensively.
